Boracay Philippines
Posted by quovadis (636 days ago)
My friends and I are planning to go to Boracay Philippines in June, but don't want to take the plane from the Manila airport anymore.
Any alternatives like bus or ferry (something exciting for a group of 3 adventurous people)?

June, July, August is "off season", you'll get a better deal.
Heard that travelling by ship to Aklan or via Batangas is possible, much cheaper but longer time.

Thanks Taps! I just checked the map and saw that Aklan is also a plane ride from Manila.
Any other alternatives?

There is an overnight domestic ferry (MBRS) who ply this route once a week. departing from Manila North Harbor, Pier 8. You may want to check on how safe it is.

This is the latest, go to Batangas pier and take ferry to Calapan.
From Calapan there are minibus going to Caticlan.
From Caticlan you take a boat to Boracay.
Be warned, it's a long travel accdg. to sister.

You can likewise take the HK-Cebu flight and take another (shorter) fight to Boracay.
Check out the link below for other alternatives in getting there. Please note that June is rainy/monsoon season already so take extra precaution.
