Need some help with new notebook
Posted by missdj (67 days ago)
I have just purchased a new Compaq notebook and it is not as user friendly as my previous one.
Having quite a few difficulties trying to do things I often need to do, actually extremely frustrated...
Can anyone recommend someone/company who can come to my home for 1 or 2 hours to help 'train' me on this?

Well, first try inputting your [general] location.
Nobody's going to travel from [say] Aberdeen to Yuen Long to assist you unless you will pay a premium price for time & travel expenses. <Grin>.

Yeah, maybe to make me look silly - it's perfectly possible to "edit" one's **OWN** messages here/there & everywhere.
You may notice that *she's* not come back to say she's been "fixed Up".

9-11 wow, a bit of attitude.
No I haven't been back on, as I was out of town for a few days and no nothing has been fixed. Even tho someone may have to 'travel' to my home, I am not expecting free............

4G, Thanks for the offer. Mac's and PC's are very different. I have a few "Mac" friends and their knowledge of PCs are not helpful

So - what's your problem(s) then?
I hope that you are fully protected ?
Go to GRC.COM and run his FREE tiny programs to close off unnecessary ports that MicroSquelch foolishly left wide open for intruders - that's a start...... then run "Shields Up and see how (in)secure your connection really is(n't).
Hint: A 'blocking' router certainly helps.......

i run HP compaq and it is very convenient, actually i think the problem is not inthe device it might be in the software (may be you used XP then ythe new device came with Vista then this is a problem) what is the problem here? if it runs slowly , try to shut down some of the startup programs which are so many in a new device

Thanks so much for the offers of help. I "think" I have managed to figure some of it out. Will see how the rest goes.
