anyone tried IVF with Dr. Lo at CNAC Building in Central? How was he and sucess rates? What is the approx. cost in total for IVF?

I'm surprised you've had no response to this yet. I was looking out for a reply as I'm also seeing Dr Lo... but for IUI at the moment. He did say that the cost of IVF would be in the region of 60-$70,000 although I've not asked for an actual quote yet. A lot of money but cheaper than some doctors I think. We're expecting to pay between $2000 and $3000 for IUI. I think the variation in price depends on the medication you have but you'd have to check that with him.

I think he really knows his stuff and he takes time to answer any questions you have thoroughly. I don't often feel that the appointment is rushed but I think he deliberately tries to take enough time with his patients. the downside of this is that you sometimes have to wait a while before being seen. I'm sure the wait is not as bad as a lot of doctors though.

I would also be interested to hear of experiences and successes with Dr Lo if there's anyone out there willing to share????? Use PM if there's something you can't say publicly!

hi girls,

i am going thru IVf with dr lo. He is a good doctor and I know friends who have had success with him. My first cycle was not successful and today we are performing embryo transfer for my frozen cycle.

Dr Lo is a nice man but pls be prepared for no sweet talk. In my case, he always tells me things as they stand and sometimes even a bit worse so that I dont get my hopes very high.

For example, in our fresh cycle, he told me he only expected like 3-4 eggs and chances dont look that good. Finally we got 12 eggs and we were over joyed.

So thats his style. Bedside manner good.

CNAC lab - the doc is very nice. Success rates again they say 40-45% for my age group which is early 30s.

Trying - good like with your FET! how many frozen embryos do you currently have left?

as for myself, I'll most likely get consultantion with Derek Lo for this cycle. I have two more frozen embryos at Union Hospital and planning to have them transfer over to CNAC. I've been at CNAC for accupuncture on my first FET and the embryologist is so kind and lovely! She treats her patients like a friend! I had over an hour consultation with her when I had my firt failed IVF and she told me everything about IVF in which my original doctor NEVER mentioned!

Hi all,

May I ask what is CNAC. As I have seen info in websites about accupuncture that can help fertility or whatever, may I know how to find the appropriate accupuncturist. I used to see Dr Milton Leong and now is tossing my coin to see Dr Derek Lo or Dr Phillip HO for next try as I have just failed IUI at aged 40.

Please advice.

Hi Stella, dr. derek lo actually have two clinics - one is in CNAC building. The acupuncturist, dr. zhou jia, works for dr. lo and she is based in cnac. She's also an embryologist and has heard that she used to work at Union hospital in which the success rate used to quiet high for IVF (as a GOOD embryologist plays an extremely important part in IVF) - the success rate at Union hospital seems to have gone done now that dr.zhou has moved out.

You can call the clinic at 2868 3139 for a consultation with dr. zhou first to see how acupunctures works for IVF and besides she's so experienced that she can provide detailed information about the IVF procedures.

hi girls,

i got my embryo transfer done on friday and 6 out of my 7 frozen embryos survived the thaw process and so we placed all 6 back. But 2 were only 2 cells so anyway the doc said we couldnt even say what grade these would coutn under.

Am now in the very dreaded 2WW.

total cost of fresh cycle - somewhere in the range of 75 -80K.

one thing i tell myself whenever i worry abt the cost - "if this brings me my baby, money can indeed buy some happinesses"
