kids beach/pool shoes
Posted by ldsllvn (189 days ago)
does anyone know where to find those plastic/rubber sort of shoes kids wear around pools and in water on the beach generally? B2B has one kind in huge sizes ( I need them for 2 yr olds) - cant find them anywhere else! Crazy, considering that most of them are probably made in China! Anyone seen those in Stanley market maybe?
Thank you!

I think I have seen some in Wing On.
But for sure they have some in gigasport in the big mall harbour city, just above the toys'r us.

I got some for my son in Mothercare a couple of years ago, might need to wait for them to get their summer stock in.

"Good Lord, no!! those hideous things, can't bear them. "
They are rather horrid yes. But we do have a pair for our daughter. They are good pool/beach shoes (she's not allowed to wear them in other circumstances) and they have the advantage of being easy to take on/off even for a two year old.

are they non-slip around the pool, axptguy? Might have to get those if I dont find any of the others I want - yep - Mothercare did not have any.. I will try the sports store that jele mentioned today and will report back!

You can get mini Teva sandals which are also good for the beach and offer better support than crocs. Saying that the mary-jane styles are better fit than the original but no good if you have boys (like me!)

"are they non-slip around the pool, axptguy?"
Depends on the surface. We don't have tiles in our complex. It was astroturf last year and this year looks like some sort of compacted sand thing. Crocs are pretty non-slip but of course wet tiles are pretty gnarly no matter what you wear. Crocs are deffo not as good as boating style soles.

just an update - I still have failed to find the pool shoes - I went to gigasport as jele suggested - after calling them and confirming that they have them! - and they dont have them!!! I nearly ripped someone's head off - had to go all the way from Central (and it is quite a hike) at my lunch our just for nothing!
Anyway- still am amazed that one can not find any pool shoes!! What does everyone else do with their little ones in the swimming pools??
