Map your travel plans to pace yourself. Otherwise you'll need another holiday to recover from a Beijing holiday.
Some recommendations below for each day, as I did this circuit. How long for each venue will depend on your interest level, so what is below is based on my trip.
1. Forbidden city, Chairman Mao's mausoleum & Tiananmen square (near each other)- >1/2 day
2. Great Wall - 1 day
3. Zhongshan Park & Temple of Heaven - 1/2 day
4. Summer Palace - 1/2 day
5. Beijing Zoo & behai park - >1/2 day
6. Antique market in Pangjiayuan- a couple of hrs
7. Tianjin - 2 days
8. Wangfujing street - unlimited shopping time and eating Peking Duck

1) somebody suggested that one day might not even been enough for FC as there are so many rooms. true?
2) for the great wall, which sections do folks here prefer: Mutianyu, Simatai or Badalinng?
aside from taking the taxi, are these public transportation that goes to the great wall?
3) for peking duck...any other choices besides: the famous Quan ju de. & Made In China (Grand Hyatt Beijing)?
thanks.
