Labour Day Holiday

Hello

I need to find out how many days Beijing offices are going to be closed for Labour Day? Are shopping places closed as well? I know that international schools are closed for one week. Thanks in advance.

Not all schools close for the week in fact ISB are closed for 3 days and some offices are closed for the week but they have to work the weekend prior. By the way it is not known as labour day here and shopping places NEVER close

Will government offices be opened on May 1st? The Chinese Consulate here calls the May 1st public holiday Labour Day; what do you call it in BJ? Are shopping places is Carrefour opened on all public holidays including Chinese New Year?
I am trying to find out the official public holiday for that May 1st as some consulates are closed for 2 days, so I am not sure which are the official days. And is it always May 1st or the 1st Monday in May every year?

I presume that most of govt. offices in BJ will be closed for 3 days starting from May 1st as they're 3 Chinese official public holidays. If May 1st fall on Sunday then one more compensated day will be added up for the hoidays period. I don't live in BJ however, here in ZH which near Guangzhou where I work, we're informed that Custom Offices, Immigration Service Offices, etc... will be closed for 1 week. Banks, however, will be oppened with shorter service time and less service personnel during May's Holidays. Big shopping centers, super markets are opened whole year through here. Cheers.
