Aussie's In Beijing

We are moving with my husbands job on a 1-2 year contract to Bejing. We live South of Sydney and would like to know more about the cost of living/different way of life from other Aussie's living in Beijing. We are desperate to hear the good/bad points of making this move. Thanks Jayne

Hi Jayne, I see that your comment was posted 268 days ago so by now you would have been living in Beijing for a while? We are looking to move from Sydney to Beijing in the new year with my husband's job and, like you, are desperate to hear about what life is like in the big city?! We have 2 children aged 21 months and 8 weeks. I'm particularly interested to hear about ideal location to live (we want a villa). Thanks, Jo

My partner and I are also moving to Beijing, would like to know what life is like in Beijing. I guess the weather is colder than what we have in Sydney.

How about the taxes, how many percent of taxes do Expats have to pay? The cost of getting a car? The possibility of staying in a villa in a populated city like Beijing?

Any info will be much appreciated.
