Clothes for children
Posted by lovemy2children2000 (962 days ago)
When I was vsiting BJ last week, I did not see many clothes for children. I see a lot of ladies' clothes but hardly any children's clothes except for designers clothes in children's boutique.
Can anyone tell me where they shop for regular children's clothes in BJ, like sweat tops/pants, shoes etc OR do I have to ship over in a container? I normally shop in Walmart, Sears, Sam's and a variety of regular departmental store in Toronto for my children's clothes.

It's a nightmare finding anything decent. I can't stand all the frills, pearls, glitter and tinsely bits that are popular here. The high end boutiques in the mall are your best bet if you want something well made. The cheaper markets are okay but you have to acclimatize yourself to chinodynamic fashion ;-)I usually have my girfriends ship me stuff, either from Please Mum and Old Navy in Canada or Next and H&M in the UK. The rest I buy here begrudgingly...I have to get over it though and deal as I'm here for 5 years!!

The large stores like YouYi sell childrens clothes very similar to Next style. They are a little bit expensive but worth it.

I know what you mean!! I am going to buy my children's clothes from here, enough until my holiday back here which is twice a year. Old Navy/Gap...here I come LOL!

Do you mean Friendship store? I was there near Silk Market. It was a huge store but only about 30' x 20' was the entire children fashion. They have lots of mustard coloured clothes and clothes with characters on them which I don't quite fancy. Carrefour also has a small section for children clothes.

You might want to try the second or third floor of the children's section in Xin Dong An. It is at the far south side of the mall.
My wife had the same concern and bought a year's worth of clothes for our son before coming.

Try the JiaYi market across from the Kunlun hotel. They have a few stalls of nice (non gem, lace and bead encrusted) durable kids things. It only takes a few minutes to wind up and down the aisles there, as it isn't a big place. You will find them. The fifth floor of Pacific Century Place on Gongti Bei Lu has a nice selection of Kids things as well, though far more expensive than Jia Yi. They even have an Osh Kosh B'Gosh dept. there. The other side of the same floor is also a good place to grab something to eat as kids can see all the dishes and point to what they like!
