My company wants to register me under our representative office in Shanghai but I will be actually working in Beijing. Can I apply work and residence permit in Beijing?

Does your company have a representative office in Beijing?If yes, I think you can obtain a work visa and residence permit in Beijing.
What kind of visa will your company help to obtain for you?

We haven't had a representative office in BJ yet. Therefore they need to register me under the office in Shanghai. They will apply a work visa for me.
