furnishing an apartment
Posted by doc student (1251 days ago)
Hi All,
My wife and I and our two boys are coming to the Beijing area in September. On a recent trip there, a Chinese colleague advised me to come pretty much empty-handed, as it's easier and cheaper to buy things in China than to pack them up and ship them from Canada.
What about furniture, just the basics? We'll need beds, a table & chairs and a few odds and ends right off the bat. Any suggestions as to where to get them? IKEA is, I suspect, more expensive than most places in Beijing ...

Guess you may rent the house or apartment when you relocate to Beijing, normally the owner will provide the furniture, some landlord even could decorate the house and buy the furniture accordingly. There are quite a lot good furniture shop with better quality comparing IKEA and price are reasonable.
