Apartment rental agency question

I have recently been working with 2 different agents spending a total of 4 hours with each agent to find an apartment. Yesturday I signed the agreement with the landlord and one of the agents and immediatly afterwards I spoke with the other agent to inform her I no longer needed her help. Today she called to tell me her boss is upset she has spent so much time to help me and wants 500 RMB to cover the cost she put in and the private car use to take me to properties in addtion to her time. Any advice to respond to her? Is this normal?

Yes, i've heard of this numerous times. And no, you don't have to pay a single penny. It's a free service and they couldn't offer a better apartment to you. Just ignore the agent's phone call. Does he/she know where you live?

hi,I'm an agent,and our agency never asks our clients to pay us the service fee whatever we have found a better apt for them or not,anyway it's our job,offer exerllent service to every client.
