Summer Opportunities

Hi!

I am an American student finishing up my first year of law school. Without making this sound like a resume, I've got a degree in Politics with a focus on the Chinese system and I've got pretty good academic credentials. I'm working on my Mandarin.

I would like to start a career in international trade in Beijing, preferably getting some experience there this coming summer.

I am curious if there is anyone out there in the legal or corporate field who could give me some advice on how to make contact with people doing the work in which I am interested, as well as any advice on how best to approach this. Any personal stories or general tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Considering your situation, you may go for some multinationals with internship provided. Afterwards, you can tentatively find some position in its PR or Strategic Department where you can gain a lot of experience on how to work with Chinese government. Hope it can be helpful.
