does anyone have an idea where to go to look for outdoor equipment in beijing, prefferable second hand, ski etc

Second Hand, no idea.
But along north 3rd ring road, opposite of this museum (technical?) is a pretty good outdoor supplier. The big signs on the 2 adjacent shops are yellow, cant be missed.
The other one is opposite of the east entrance of the worker's stadium. Where Frank's Place is and Berena's etc, in the south corner of this little bar street. Good luck.
