Utilities Bill for Winter

hi. just came home to a piece of paper pasted on my front door. the only info i could read is my unit number, 2855 and 0.44yuan so i'm guessing it's the electricity bill. (normally my landlord would pay everything first and i'll pay him back). that works out to around RMB1,200. the last electricity i paid was in late october. what's going on? 1200 for a month??!!

appreciate your views. thanks. and while you're at it, please share also your estimation for heating bill.

Hi Honeybee, I am not sure if your situation is the same as in our appartment but here we have an electricity bill but also a seperate heating fee which is currently paid by our landload and was about 5400 for 3 months. I am still not entirly sure how this seperate fee works but it is my only suggestion. Good luck!! working out all the different fees was just the most eye opening experience, I still worry....have I got it all or will one day something just stop because I haven't paid the right ammount on the right card at the right time!!! :)

what i understand is the heating system utilises both electricity and gas. my experience before was a big increase in gas fees as soon as i switch on the heaters (which i won't complain to keep warm) but the impending electricity bill for only past 1 month at rmb1,200. i just checked my records and it's only been 600 for the past 5 months.

i dread 'the talk' with the landlord so i wanna make sure this 1200 bill is unbelievable and start talking or i should wake up and realise that's the cost and pay.
