SMS-is there a phone company that lets you sms

In Shanghai a China Unicom SIM card allowed sms text messages to be sent to overseas, however I bought one here and it wont allow sms to overseas, So I bought a China Mobile SIM card and that too will not allow sms - any sugestions on how I can I can sms from here to overseas?

China Mobile SHOULD let you sms overseas. I can do it in beijing.
dial 00(Countrycode, number,etc). Do NOT dial with a + sign or
anything else. IF you have problems, go to China Mobile main
store, and ask them to show you how.

Laura's right. For more questions, you can dial 1001 with China Unicom or 1860 with China Mobile, both of them has English inquiry services.
