Where is the cheapest place in Beijing to purchase pots and pans? And bed sheets?
Thanks,

Wu Mart - they're a supermarket chain... kind of like supermarket/Wal Mart all in one.

Helsinki, thanks for your response. Also, can you tell me anything about the water in Beijing? Is it ok to cook with or drink? If not, then do you normally buy bottled water? Sorry, so many questions...we are moving there next month and wanted some info before we leave.

Hello Sparr
I drink bottled water, or filtered water (many people have filters on their taps) or boiled water if I don't have anything else. I wouldn't drink the water in Beijing straight from the tap. But I cook with tap water and brush my teeth etc with tap water. Haven't gotten sick once from it, so should be safe (and I have a very sensitive tummy).
Btw - WuMart is WuMei in Chinese, pronounced woo-may.
