Questions - Beijing, Chao Yang District
Posted by elyza42200 (112 days ago)
Hello!
I am considering moving to Beijing for a few years to learn better Mandarin and wanted to get an idea of living in Beijing, I have a very old view of China and wanted to know what it is like today! The whole westernization of china...
I believe the school is near the Chao Yang District and wanted to know what housing is like there and the area... or more so is it fun and safe??
ANY informatoin would be greatly appreciated.
I have read through a few threads and apologize if mine is a repeat of some.

Chaoyang district is the most modern area of Beijing. There are all kinds of housing available there, from the very expensive fancy villas to cheap apartments. It won't be a problem finding something that fits into what you are looking for.
I feel that BJ is very safe, I feel safer here than in most big cities in Europe. And there are plenty of ways to have fun here! :)
All in all Beijing is a great place to live, a mixture of old an new, Chinese and western. To me, the biggest downside is the pollution, which can get pretty bad at times.
